FALLBACK
thrifted tee, sirens liquid look leggings, vintage shoes, vintage mink coat.
UGH. My days are now loaded with tons more homework and barely any fun, and so imagine my delight when I sulk into the nearest thrift store to find this fantastic Harley-Davidson tee and the most amazing vintage fur coat
--all in one day! BUT ANYWAYS. I know it's a very controversial thing to wear fur now a days. Lots of people have issues with the unethical treatment of animals (ehem) when it comes to making fur coats, and you know what--
I get that. I know animals should be treated respectfully to an extent...So why am I wearing fur?
For starters, it's vintage. In my opinion, vintage fur is a fashion grey area. It was made decades ago, and so it would mean that by buying vintage I am
not killing animals, but rather
recycling and saving animals from being slaughtered today. Imagine...it takes several pelts to make a single coat, if everyone bought (or inherited) used furs that would mean saving saving thousands of animals today.
Of course, I know that by wearing fur (whether vintage or faux) one could still argue that I support the slaughtering of innocent animals, and that critiques like that are pretty much inevitable. But I also know that everyone has rights to their own opinions and their own definition of "ethical". I'm just stating my personal point of view, and if you don't exactly agree, that's fine. Just please don't leave me rude comments about yours.
