Bonjourrrr lovers.

How was everyone's Monday? I sure had a good one! Got a lovely package in the mail, pumped some iron (you should see my guns, haha) and of course, I worked on that interview video! Still not quite done, but then again...perfection takes time:) I'm thinking I'll be able have it up and ready by Wednesday or Thursday, but until then, I hope my day/night take on the Cleopatra look will suffice.

Also, before I go, I gotta say--loved hearing about everyone's achievements and future goals, you guys are an optimistic bunch!

Had photoshoot session one yesterday, starring Bryce; a friend willing to splatter paint all over her face and totally mess up her bathroom all for the sake of fashion and photography...My hero!

Hello lovelies:) Today is my half birthday!

Yeah, I realize people don't celebrate that--ever--but it's great to look back at how much
one has changed in the last six months. I've learned, grown and accomplished a lot of things since May, and I think that deserves a little celebration. It's also a time to reasses your goals--what do I want to accomplish before my next birthday?

Haha, that's a lot of stuff to process on a Friday afternoon, but I really want to know--how much have you changed in six months? What have you accomplished, and what do you want to accomplish?

Looking forward to your answers, I hope everyone has a great Friday:]

PS. Have you entered the contest I'm holding for a Kenneth Jay Lane ring giveaway? It ends December 7th, so hurry!

LEATHERSKIRTSANONYMOUS

Hi, my name is Raez and I'm addicted to leather skirts...Seriously, every time I visit a thriftstore, I immediately head to the skirt section, close my eyes, stick out my hand and let my sense of touch do the choosing. Be it buttery leather, soft suede, skin tight, vibrantly-hued or basic black--if the skirt fits I am buying it!
While I'm not 100% percent sure where the root of my leather skirt addiction is, I do know that I can't pass up an investment piece like this electric blue beauty. Yeah, I'm aware that retina-burning bright blue is neither a neutral colour nor a colour for the faint of heart, but at $12 $6 on a Value Village sale day, are you going to say no?! Yep, didn't think so.

This is that shoot I did with Bryce and Pam on Valentine's, as promised! Glittery eyes, lollipops, sequins and florals. What more could you possibly want?

Hope everyone's having a great hump day;) You know how much I love my Wednesdays...

My awesome friend Haley gave me this raccoon tail hat a few weeks ago, and despite its seductive furriness, I had yet to debut it on my blog, in fear of fur-hat overload. But after seeing the William Rast FW2010 collection, and swooning all over the assorted tails poking out of pockets and belt loops, I decided to break it out and pair mine with sequins, denim and electric blue liner!

And now for some news: I've recently been featured in the beauty/makeup section of the Feb 2010 issue of GHUBAR, a French magazine dedicated to fashion and style (thank you Sarah Diouf!) I've also been featured as blogger of the week over at What The Hellz (thank you Brittany!) Just click on the thumbnails below to read my features:)

On another note...it seems as though only two or three people guessed the real identities of Philip and Sam! Were Bryce and Zoe really that convincing as 20-something British lads? I mean, I thought the fake accents, red nail polish and painted on mustaches would be a total give away!

How is everyone's weekend so far?

Mine's been off to a great start, and I'm already dreading Monday (two tests and an optometrist appointment!) However, I'm really looking forward to showing you guys the video, and a surprise as well....

Anyways, just about to head out the door, but before I go, thought I'd show you
these old pictures. They've been sitting in my computer for a while now, but I still really like the the colours:)

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS MADNESS?!? ▲▲▲

Yeah, I couldn't either! I mean, how perfect is this jacket? I first laid eyes on it last weekend, and after recollecting myself post-shock at its 50% off pricetag, I bought it! How could I resist? The marvelously oversized collar, contrasting panelling and bad-ass motorcycle good looks were just begging for me to take it home.

Oh, and the fact that it pretty much looks like this Rick Owens jacket had a love child with this Rick Owens jacket is nobigdeal...

So have you guys met my buddies Philip and Sam? They're the coolest people you'll ever meet, and I was super excited that they agreed to do a photoshoot with me! Seriously, it's not everyday you get to chill with a couple of British bad boys like these fellows. I was honoured to be in their presence, really. Even more so when they (reluctantly) agreed to have a "formal" interview! You can see more of their flamboyant photos HERE.

Wearing a thrifted Metallica shirt, borrowed leopard skirt, random fishnets, and vintage combat boots.

Oh, who are we kidding. These fellows aren't really British, nor are they from the tile business! Kudos to you if you can name the crazy people playing these characters for your enjoyment. BUT NO GUESSING IF YOU KNOW VIA FACEBOOK;)

VELVETSTARS

Velvet turbans are the only answer for my bad hair days. There's only so much you can do with hair as short as mine before you start feeling a bit ridiculous ie) no braids, ponytails, and definitely no pigtails. As for the rest of this outfit...pretty self explanatory. What else would you pair with a midnight-blue velvet turban other than starry tights and wine suede pumps?

Well, this weekend was one to remember! Aside from making life-altering decisions, (which included the one about quitting my job and telling my mom about my blog) I had some anxiety-less moments too.

With the weight off my shoulders, why not have some fun? On Valentine's Day, Bryce, Pam and I made officially declared it Will Ferrell Appreciation Day with the intentions of having a good old fashioned movie marathon (Blades of Glory, Stepbrothers etc.) But we ended up doing a glitter-covered photoshoot (more to come) instead, which postponed the movie-watching, and we only got around to watching Semi-Pro.

On Monday, Bryce and I headed over to Zoe's place to hang out. It's been a while since all three of caused any sort of shenanigans together, and so were all in luck, because none of us had school thanks to Louis Riel Day (woot woot!) Long story short, we had shitloads of fun that produced at least three (?) photoshoots and a few videos.

Anyways, how was your Valentine's weekend?

Hey guys, happy almost Friday!

I'm super glad you liked the "cheap" makeup post! Got a lot of different answers, but one thing's unanimous: Burt's Bees and Maybelline mascara are the crowd favourites. Will definitely have a go at Burt's Bees lipbalm next time I head over to walmart--I'm almost out of mascara!

But back to the outfit! I can't believe I've never shown you guys this amazing jacket...soft buttery brown leather in the awesomest bomber shape. Can't leave the house without it now, even if the weather is nice. It's a great basic and alternative to a black moto too. (WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?! YOU CAN'T HIDE FOREVER!)

PS.
Check out this cute little cartoon that June of CodyJune did of me! Hilarious and cute, I love it!
