Merry Christmas, all! I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!
Although I'm sure most of us enjoyed or are currently enjoying basking in the warmth that is Christmas Day (what with all the gift-unwrapping, Christmas carols, family meals and quality time) not everyone is feeling the literal warmth  of the holiday season. So if you're planning on going outside to frolic in the snow after you've opened your presents, or maybe just happen to live in sub polar temperatures (cough, cough Manitoba) then this is for you. I've finally gotten around to making the part two of my 'Stages of Warm' guide, targeting the age-old question: "How do I stay warm and avoid looking like the Michelin Man in 40 below weather?"
CLICK FOR DETAILS!

STAGE FIVE: -15 -25 DEG CELCIUS For some, this is as cold as (or colder than) it gets. But if you live in the Canadian prairies, this is just the beginning! Seriously considered "not bad", I know many who would consider tobogganing (sledding) and skating as long as the wind-chill wasn't so bad. You'll really only need a light-medium parka layered with a sweater for warmth, and I recommend switching tights for thermal leggings and light-medium waterproof boots with a good grip if you are planning on climbing up and down hills all day.
STAGE SIX: -25 -35 DEG CELCIUS This is the average temperature here during mid-winter. I would suggest wearing more layers as needed and switching your parka for a down puffer jacket and mittens for lined leather gloves (perfect for shoveling snow, haha). And how cute are these Mukluks? They're a way cuter alternative to UGGs when in comes to warmth and comfort.
STAGE SEVEN: -35 -40+ DEG CELCIUS I must admit, this is pretty cold weather. The only surefire way to stay warm/alive is to say inside, but since some of us still have to go to school or work (we don't have snow days, even when it's -45 degrees out) then you've really got to bundle up! I recommend: thermal underwear, super thick knits, these intense wool/rubber ski pants, and hardcore snow boots (these sorels are good up to -40 deg celcius). Might I also suggest an ice pick? You might need it to scrape the ice off your door knobs at this point haha;)
