{ lost } and found

for roughly the last 10 years, i've been collecting insect jewelry ~ mostly spiders and scarabs, but also anything odd that simply strikes my fancy. about 2 years back, i found the most perfect pair of cicada earrings at a local craft fair, and had to have them.

i wore them constantly, until one day last fall when ~ somewhere between the west 4th street subway and bar pitti ~ one of them fell out of my ear and was lost forever to the new york city street. i was as heartbroken as one can be over an earring. i've missed wearing them ever since.

so, imagine my surprise when a recent clicking trip through modcloth's accessory shop led me back to the exact same pair ~ re-released and just as i remembered them! we are reunited at last! welcome back, old friends:
