{ costume of the day } khaki mackie
you may recall that, earlier this season, i went through an intense trench coat obsession. then, suddenly, it got too hot to indulge in this fixation. that is, until i found this sleeveless mackin-frock on modcloth!
i love wearing it now, as a dress, and feel certain it's going to make an equally great layering piece as we ease into fall. can't you just picture it worn as a vest, over long, lean trousers? or tucked under a cropped bomber ~ or better yet, below another trench coat?!? i can't wait!
for its maiden turn, however, i styled it simply: with a few favorite gold jewels, some new sunnies (from the CFDA + vogue eyewear collaboration, which launches today), and a skinny chartreuse belt wrapped round my wrist. i'm always looking for new ways to sport my standard accessories (which is why i've also taken to adding brooches to my bags, as seen here and HERE).
what's your favorite way to milk more wear from your favorite frills?
