Oh, I feel horrible today! my throat really hurts and I'm feeling the way I always do before I get a fever and get sick for two days. AH! THE AGONY! I have a graphics presentation tommorow that I absolutely cannot miss and here I am moping about being sick and without any bleeping chicken noodle soup!

Gah! I wish I had some aroscaldo.

P.S>>
These boots only cost me six bucks!

What a weird day...For the first time in my life I gave advice--good advice! I felt really weird after that, not to mention totally confused...so I went shopping! LOL

Nothing like a good hunt to sort things out! Besides tons of clothes, I bought three more rings, a bangle, and can you guess how much I got these Nine West booties for?! Two Bucks!!!

CRAM IT.

ARGH! IGNORE MY SMILEY-FACED PICTURE!
The most dreaded week of the year is taking a toll on me. I am seriously freaking out that I won't hand in my magazine projecton time and that I'll be getting a--gulp--69% OH THE HORROR. That is practically a slap in the face for all the hard work I've been doing (photoshooting, scheming, planning, making phonecalls, stressing connections...blah blah)

*cringe*

End of the story: my graphics devil is having world war three with my geo exam guardian angel. And I wish they'd shut up!

"ALL THE WOMEN, INDEPENDENT, THROW YOUR HANDS UP AT ME"

Photos by Bryce Creasy
Everything I said I'd accomplish by now has indeed been accomplished and life is good. Or is it...? Whenever I talk with friends, the subject of what we're up to now that high school is over always comes up in conversation. In a way, I think we want to hear what everyone else is doing as a way to escape our own reality; we do it to compare our own busy, draining, demanding schedules. Because maybe you're getting tired of your own life and hearing a friend talk about university makes you wish you were there too, or perhaps it makes you feel glad you're not. It doesn't take a genius to know that everyone has their own separate path in life; the real challenge is knowing which path is yours--which one to take. You might have to take several turns to get onto the right one, or maybe--just maybe--you knew it all along.
I know is this some heavy shit to process on a Friday night (techically Saturday morning), but this is really my only time to think. Right now my "path" involves working 5 or 6 days a week, usually straight from school (Mon-Fri), staying home on the weekend to cook/clean, and choosing between food or shoes (2 times out of 3 I will choose shoes over food). Despite this, I still find it funny that hardly anyone can (or wants to) believe that I'm juggling this crazy schedule while still finding the time to blog AND eat healthy. Because, well...this mad house lifestyle is just what I wanted, and sure, it's not easy, but I wouldn't change it for the world! I love being independent, it's just who I am. I mean, this is just another challenge that I've already tackled. All I've gotta say to the universe is, "BRING IT ON!" I've done this, now give me a new challenge.

Despite my attempts at dressing 'happy' to "cheer" up my day, things went wrong, horribly wrong. As I was rushing out the door my sneaky water bottle leaked all over my tote bag and all over my makeup stash. SHIT. Not to mentioned sogged up my already soggy lunch wrap. DOUBLE SHIT.

And so, there goes my stupid idea of dressing cheery. Borat, I hate you.

This was Friday's outfit...As you can see, I decided to go with my dad's 80's vintage plaid shirt. I love it...it's really comfy, light and perfectly vibrant. I even call it my righty-shirt, I love it that much! Also went for a half-up, inspired by Ms. Wino (minus the heavy liner).

So. Friday was really rad, me and my homies just chilled and talked about stuff, kind of like the olden days--I like that. We even took some silly mirror reflection pictures in the school bathroom. You know, the ones where you pose in stupid poses with your tongues out and everything?

ANYWHO. Friday was awesome, but you will not belive how awesome Thursday was. After an awesome night at work (I was perfectly smooth at the till, thankyouverymuch) I came home to find that my mom has won a Wii at her work's 10th anniversary party!!! AHHH!!!

HEATWAVE

Photos by Bryce Creasy
What a week! For starters, it has been absolutely boiling for the past few days here in Winnipeg. For someone who lives in the ice cold heart of Canada, where winter lasts at least 6 months and school doesn't get cancelled until it's -40 degrees out--yes, I am complaining of 30 degree weather in September! It's because I would rather freeze than melt to death. Besides, being frozen reminds me of botox and botox is glam, no? Kidding!
Any how, in celebration (and I say this grudgingly) of the heat, I decided I'd rock a bikini off-beach. Reasons being: 1) because I can 2) because it's hot out 3) because I love this Seafolly bikini so much that if 4) I can't go to the beach, I will make the beach come to me. True story, bro.
As for other exciting news: I'm officially back in school, I bought new shoes for fall (outfit to come!) and...I hosted a fashion show at The Bay on Saturday! Basically they just wanted me to show up, look pretty and talk about fashion, which was fairly easy considering that's what I was born to do, haha. It was hectic and nerve-wracking, but overall it was a fun new experience, I enjoyed myself and met some awesome people--which is more than what one can ask for, especially when presented the opportunity on a silver platter.

(JOB)HUNTERGREEN

ph. by Kristine

As you know from my last post, I've been pretty busy job hunting my butt off lately. I've been traveling to the mall quite a lot this past week flitting from interview to interview, but none such luck...yet! I've got a few more interviews next week, and then we'll see how it goes. I have a feeling I'll have a job by the end of next week, but I'm not saying where yet--don't want to jinx it:)

As for this outfit...it's my lounging-around-on-a-lazy-Sunday look. I was going to post one of interview outfits, but weirdly enough I can't find my LBD. It's been missing for two days--I swear my closet just ate it up!

Anyways, hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

SUPERBELATEDBIRTHDAY

Wearing a sequin jacket c/o Lucy Acyd, thrifted sequin top, GAP kids skirt, Paramix studded clutch and Calvin Klein shoes.

Man, it feels like my 18th birthday was ages ago, but it hasn't even been three months! I'm not much of a partier if you can believe it (IKR?!) but since turning 18 is all about being legal (thank you Canada) why not take advantage of it and celebrate?

Enter the only people I trust with having a good time: Andrew (professional partier), Kylie (best dancer ever) and Bryce (BFF/designated sober decision maker). We hit up a pub, filled up on greasy carbs while the three of them bought me drink after drink, then went dancing at Fame (awesome gay nightclub). Lessons to take from that night? Wearing my Disco Pants was a good call, gay bars are the place to go dancing and beer tastes gross (I prefer tequila). But wait, there's more!

The next morning was actually the day of my closet yard sale! In retrospect, it probably wasn't a good idea to schedule a closet sale the day after my first time drinking, but thankfully I was fine. The sale went well; there was a good turn up and I sold a big bulk of my closet, but there was still a lot left over. Hmmm...closet sale part II? You never know!

BTW my birthday was a bit of a marathon, because after partying and hosting a yard sale the next day, I still had a formal dinner scheduled right after my closet sale! After the sale, my fam and I headed to Hu's Asian Bistro where I met up with friends and family for the most delicious Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai meal of my LIFE! Ugh, so good, I highly recommend. Also, no birthday is complete without cake, which is why I insisted upon photography-themed red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing for my guests and a giant, Canon Mark 5D cake for me. 100% amazingly detailed and completely edible; the folks at Cakeology are geniuses!

GUESSWHOSBACK?!

More like, "guess whose legs?!" (see what I did there?) Nonetheless, I believe the correct answer to the first rhetorical question is: I AM! The second answer being, "mine"- those legs are definitely mine.
Believe it or not, I'm back on the internets and while not necessarily "better than ever" (you might argue, that I am indeed the same as ever, accompanied by an eye-roll) I am back to blogging and that's all that matters, right? After a near-three month hiatus, I woke up this morning and decided, "Ya know, today I feel like blogging!" And that's it, that's all it takes to break a hiatus, really. Now you're probably wondering what I've been up to for all that time, so I'll just tell you all the major events in a more-or-less chronologically listed form:
1) My birthday happened. I finally turned 18 on May 27th!
2) I graduated from high school on June 22nd and I have the diploma to prove it.
3) I also went to Grad (Canadian equivalent of 'Prom') in a tuxedo and yes, I have pictures!
4) I MOVED OUT OF MY PARENT'S HOUSE! Since June 30th, I have lived with my nine cats in a spacious cardboard box outside of Walmart. (KIDDING I am renting a sweet apartment with an awesome room mate)
5) I got myself a second job in order to support my nine cats. (Again, kidding about the cats, but the job is real)
Of course, more ordinary things have happened in between all the exciting stuff, but this list pretty much covers it all. Watch out for some life recaps coming up soon. I have to get you caught up somehow, don't I?

NOTALKINGJUSTDANCING

Life has been strange lately. Lots of little oddities happening around me and I just don't know what to do with them sometimes. So what can I do besides keep on keeping on? You know, hanging out with friends and doing fun photo shoots (see pic of the fabulous Zoe above), doing my homework, reading Catcher in the Rye, preparing for graduation, losing things (like my tripod mount, ugh), finding things (like my baby pictures, hardly any of which are attractive), eBay-ing things (fox fur tails, anyone?) and dealing with crappy Winnipeg "spring" weather.
In short, I've gotten so used to mundane, daily occurrences that I had absolutely no idea how to react to being approached by Breakfast Television Winnipeg to appear on their show. <<< See? No caps, no exclamation points, not even italics. TIME STOOD STILL. And then what did I do next? I danced! Nothing fancy, just flailing limbs...BECAUSE HOW ELSE WOULD YOU REACT TO THAT?!? No words, just dancing, that's how! Eventually I had to stop dancing and go to work and pretend nothing was out of the ordinary, but really, I was still dancing on the inside.
But now that the details have been confirmed (and I've calmed down now, haha) I can finally sit down and announce on my blog [what I've already announced on Twitter + Facebook yesterday]: Basically, Breakfast Television Winnipeg has invited me to appear on their show to talk about fashion and blogging! The date is set for March 31st anywhere from 6-9AM. So if you're a Winnipeger, you should really tune in on channel 8 bright and early (or PVR it, if you like to sleep in) to watch me try not to make a fool of myself live :)
Anyways, enough rambling! Regular posting (aka outfits) will resume as soon as I set up my temporary tripod!

Mission Accomplished

Got a hair cut today, not that you can tell. I shopped, I caught the bus, I talked to strangers. I planned 2 photoshoots and got a supplier for cardboard tubes (for a project). I even got half my shopping done! Not a bad start to holiday break!

I'll post new outfits soon, when I'm not busy working...

FLOAT

Sorry for the week-long blog pause there. To be honest, last week was...unremarkably bland. I don't remember if I was busy or not, or if anything even remotely exciting happened other than my third bloggiversary. I guess time flies whether you're having fun or being bored out of your mind! Or perhaps I just have selective memory...?
Anyhow, my lovelies...thought I'd put one of my favourite outfits to good use by sashaying around in the privacy of my own room/in front of the lens and listening to Crystal Antlers today (as you can see I'm in a bit of a dark mood). I was saving it for a sunny day, but alas, the sun and the snow are a bit of a package deal (until April anyway). Sadly, not a glimmer of hope towards an early spring, despite what the groundhogs might say. So until then, I shall be dreaming of sheer black maxi skirts whilst wearing my thick parka and pom-pom hat in reality. Darn it!

I feel like I am going insane. Kind of like when you're on a sugar rush, or hanging upside down or tranquilized, or perhaps in a coma. Maybe even unconcious...Man...I'm so stressed out right now, it's not even funny!

Geo this, Graphics that, Newspaper here, deadline there--just stop it already! Thank god its almost christmas break...

Anyone got any holiday plans? I know I'm not going anywhere!
