makeup post

As you know, my rabbit died recently, and I'm still pretty sad about the whole ordeal. However, your kind words and sympathy over the last two days cheered me up very much, so a great big *hug* and thanks to everyone who dropped by and left a nice comment:) I appreciate it, lovelies!

Anywho. I think it's about time for a beauty post. The above are my beauty essentials, and as cheap and unglamorous as they are, I can't live without them!

Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara in Very Black: One of the best mascaras I've ever used. The formula is thin in consistency, very dark and thickens/lenghtens like a dream. Takes my puny asian lashes from blah to WOW in two coats. I like to curl after application and it holds like a dream too:)

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 30: LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STUFF. I cannot live without it! If you are sun concious like me and like to wear sunscreen everyday, but hate the oil and shine, you should buy this...it is sheer and dry touch like it says it is, plus it contains Avobenzone, one of the three main certified ingredients that block UVA/UVB rays. I mostly use this for my face; for my body, I like to use their spray version.

Revlon New Complexion Concealer in Light/Medium: I bought this stuff on a whim, because I ran out of concealer, I never thought it would be that amazing. But it is! The formula is lovely, it mimics skin, is opaque, yet not cakey and best of all it doesn't settle into those little white bumps under your eyes. It made me look wide awake and it lasted through two hours of sweaty badminton practice!

NYC Browser Eye Brow Kit in Brunette: I am quite enthusiastic when it comes to eyebrows, I must admit, and I am a perfectionist when it comes to tweezing, shaping or filling in my eyebrows. This nifty little kit is super cheap, but the powder and wax combination is comparable to the pricey stuff. I like the powder formulation, and I often use it alone to fill in my brows as the wax can cake on sometimes.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love That Red: I've always loved revlon, and this blue based red creme lippy is perfect for me, it doesnt last forever on your lips, but its moisturizing AND cheap so I dont mind if I have to reapply.

NYC in a New York Colour Minute Fast Drying Nail Polish in East Village: What can I say? Love the colour, it will permanently be on my toes, and its very fast drying. Not to mention ccccccccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhheaaaaaaap!

Wet n' Wild Kahal Liner in White: My other secret to looking wide awake...just line the inner rims of your eyes with this stuff and your eyes just pop.

CK In 2 U for her eau de toilette: I adore this perfume, it's my signature scent. The light citrusy/floral scent and warm vanilla undertones suits my personality well (or I'd like to think so) and it seriously just wakes me up in the morning. I love the smell so much, if I forget to wear it, I get pouty:P

SPA Resource Blush Brush: I love the entire SPA resource line of makeup brushes, which you can find at walmart. They use real animal hair, not synthetic, are well made and sleek in design plus it's dirt cheap. Very good quality for a fraction of a single MAC brush. I mean, I've had their blush brush for over two years and its still good as new. And I bought it for about six or seven bucks.

Cover Girl Eyelash Curler: Forget Shu Uemera. This one work just as well! I "inherited" this from my mom; it was my first eyelash curler, and I'm guessing it'll be my last. It fits my eye like a glove (as if eyes need gloves!), and though I've replaced the pads many times, its good as new. I would be pretty freakin' upset if I lost this:(

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser: I cannot praise this product enough. I recently ran out of this stuff and had to suffice with something else, as my mother refused to buy me more until she went grocery shopping (two weeks of agony, I tell yah!) Within that two weeks that I stopped using it, (I used the neutrogena grapefruit cleanser instead) my face started to break out here and there (the grapefruit was waaaaaay too drying) and it was a nightmare to get my mascara off! This stuff cleans without drying, keeps acne away, and removes all the heavy eyegunk I sometimes put on.

NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Powder in Pink Cheek Glow: I am in love with this stuff too. Whoever said that NYC is a shitty brand should go drown themselves in their benefit cheek tint or stab themselves in the eye with their diorshow mascara. Haha, I'm just kidding, but seriously, do not doubt the power of this dirt-cheap line of cosmetics. This blush comes in a huge pan (which I have been using over the past year and a half and it's still half-full), has a great finish (not too sparkly and def. not cakey) and is a great colour. And I have yet to meet a person who doesn't look good in this shade. I use this on everyone who's ever been on a photoshoot with me, just ask them ;) Bonus: no need to switch to summer and winter shades. Looks great for both seasons!

What are YOUR beauty essentials? I'd love some recommendations:)
