recently, i told you i'd soon have fun news from the erin fetherston front. now that i'm finally ready to share, where to begin?! well for starters, i'm especially excited to announce that i'll be contributing my own costumery to her site every wednesday ~ beginning right now!

for the last few weeks, i've had a hard time NOT wearing her dylan blouses (in both solid & printed form). seriously, they work for any occasion ~ so today's post is a tribute to them, and all the places we've been! read it HERE.

{ above: scarf-turned-turban, bird print dylan blouse courtesy of erin fetherston, vintage palazzo pants, adorable papillon puppy // below: tom ford sunnies, self-designed necklace, ivory dylan blouse courtesy of erin fetherston // more photos of them both HERE }

also very exciting? erin's currently running a contest on facebook ~ everyone who 'likes' her page before november 10th will be entered to win a $1000 gift certificate to her store!! (be sure to show some love to my page too, while you're there ~ i've begun posting extra photos of every costume!).

what's more, on fridays from here out (as of this week), the first ten people to tweet the hashtag #fetherfridays + a link to their favorite item on erinfetherston.com will receive 10% off their next order.

finally, if you have a question for the designer herself, post it on her fan page or tweet it at her (using the hashtag #EFQandA) ~ she'll be answering every one of them this weekend!

to salute the premier of tweet my bag, i thought it would be fun to do a good old fashioned 'what's in my purse?' post. here's what i carry with me every day:

though i prefer a canon G10 for blog photos, i like to carry the more portable power shot around for everyday snaps. i make my own music with bike keys and extra jewelry jingle-jangling at the bottom of my bag, but eskuche headphones (permanantly plugged into my iphone) are better at drowning out crying babies on the subway. a coinpurse from chinatown in san fransisco totes touch-up essentials: powder, lip gloss, cuticle cream, chanel 'coco mademoiselle' perfume mini (in a cool lipstick-like case), and an antique fold-out comb to keep my coif perennially polished. gotta have sunnies, and can never get far without my cesare paciotti dagger-print wallet.

good thing my nikki bag is so big!
want to own one of your own? post a picture of yourself carrying any bag on tweet my bag before february 14th, and you'll receive a unique link to discounted duds in rebecca minkoff's online store. better yet, they'll be giving away a free bag to each week's most stylish lass. enjoy!

{ costume of the day } to market

like i said before, this week was the coldest of the season. to cope, i decamped to the country for the weekend, where the house has a fireplace (and central heating!) i can cozy up to. it's times like these that living in a pre-war townhouse with unreliable radiators seems to not be so charming.

because of the brutal chill, the only time i actually left home was to stock up on veggies at citarella. at least it gave me an excuse to debut my new blue bag! the fine folks at rebecca minkoff sent it over last week, with an invitation to test drive tweet my bag ~ which just launched today. a sister site to tweet my style ~ the super cool community where you can easily upload your personal style pics to facebook and twitter via any wireless device ~ tweet my bag is offering decadent discounts and prodigious prizes to anyone who uploads personal pictures with a purse! click here to enter.

i am honored to have been named blogger of the moment by the folks over at modcloth, an incredibly addictive online emporium offering super affordable, crazy adorable wardrobes to frugal glamour addicts around the world. it's hard to believe that this internet sensation ~ recently listed among america's coolest young entrepreneurs ~ was founded only a few years ago by susan gregg koger, a young lass who loved thrifting. what she has built is such an inspiration!

susan's tremendous team let me put together my own little shop-in-shop, stocked with all my favorite modcloth morsels. click here to see my picks ~ i even included a fetching frock for little bunny!
