you've seen portmans pieces pop up in a few of my recent posts, and i'm excited to finally share the photos jeremy and i made in collaboration with this iconic australian brand:

i've had so much fun working on these sorts of projects lately!! as a stylist, experimenting with new, interesting clothes is a big part of the professional fun. and personally, getting to play dress-up in this way allows me to explore the layers of, and discover new things about, my own fashion personality.

i wasn't terribly familiar with portmans when they first approached me about shooting some pieces for their campaign (they don't have stores in the states, sadly), but became an immediate fan when the looks from the line arrived at my door. they make the sort of pieces that primarily populate my own closet ~ great basics with a twist. the first and last looks were especially hard to part with post-shoot! those smudged prints were perfection.

just as we attempted to shoot a few photos, humongous, menacing, unexpected raindrops suddenly appeared (as evidenced by my shirt). immediately running for cover was the only option, so it was lucky that my intrepid photographer managed to snap the beautiful back of this blouse as i fled for safety.

kind of obsessed with this jacket right now ~ it's from the australian brand portmans, with whom i'm currently working on a fun, upcoming collaboration. and it looks good with everything i've tried. the curved hem (especially that oh-so beguiling back), the cropped sleeves, the lightly padded shoulders, the multi-seasonal weight.... all combine to create a little bit of perfect. this new dress ain't half-bad either; together, they feel appropriate for almost anything, while imbuing just the right amount of mystery.
