DDDUCKY

It's Monday again, and you know what that means...it's Man-candy Monday, y'all! Haha, I don't know how long I plan to keep this little feature up because a) it's hard posting on Monday's all the time b) it messes up my blogging schedule c) all the man-candy I seem to have in my inspiration folder are either too boyish or too feminine, which is pretty ironic.
But anyways. Enjoy this week's MM, featuring Jake Cooper photographed by Damon Baker for The Fashionisto.
PS. Does the last picture not remind you of an emo'd-up version of Ducky from Pretty in Pink? Ha.

Hey lovelies, super sorry for the post-absence lately--I've been so busy this weekend hitting up all the 50% off sales, that I never got around to doing a Q&A post! So here goes: just ask me anything! Absolutely anything you want, I don't care how weird or random it is, just ask away:) I think I'll give you a few days to ask, because hopefully, at the end of the week or beginning of next week, I'LL MAKE YOU GUYS A VIDEO.

Anyways, the fantastic art above is by the talented Marie Aveline! These aren't real ads, but her knack for photo editing and fresh perspective definitely made me believe so otherwise! Check out the rest of these "ads" HERE.

MANCANDYMONDAY

I hereby declare every Monday henceforth as Man-Candy Mondays. Why, you may ask? Well, because I say so! Haha, just kidding. But really, who wouldn't mind a little pick-me-up every now and then? Especially on the worst day of the week! Right now, I'm guessing everybody could use a little something' somethin' to sweeten their Mondays ;)

This is perfection. The futuristic styling of simplicity, texture and structure seriously appeals to my sci-fi nerd side It's as if he fell from heaven (or a hovercraft) and landed in a desert all sexy and mysterious! SIGH...

MISMATCHED

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I've been very uninspired lately, with the weather turning gray and all that. So I decided to make an inspiration board today--which was way funner than expected! Currently digging red lips, smokey eyes, sequins, leopard, fur and that amazing Proenza Schouler shoe!

More collages to follow, just say the word:)

TAKEITEASY

Ruby Aldridge by Derek Kettela for Dossier Journal
Essentially, this is what I've been doing all day. You know, lounging around, looking pretty whilst achieving absolutely nothing? (Just kidding, I didn't look this attractive, I assure you.) With exam week happening and me not having any at all, I thought I'd take it easy. Because right around the corner is semester two. And bad girls who take postpone all of their major courses until the last semester of their graduating year get it worse, or so I hear. But until then, I shall be lounging here in my skivvies and lolling about on a furry rug while anticipating the worst. Bring it on, I dare say!
Hope you all had a lovely, lingerie-modelling sort of Monday! And don't forget to enter the ChicShop giveaway if you haven't already.

CRYSTALCLEAR

Crystal Renn absolutely blew my mind away in her latest editorial. Shot by Philip Riches for Avant Garde Magazine November 2010, Crystal rocks the femme fatale look 110 percent and shows them other girls exactly how it's done! What I love about her--besides her enviable curves and otherworldly beauty, of course--is that she brings this undeniable confidence to every shoot she does. And we all know that confidence = sexy ;)

Whenever I'm at a loss for inspiration, there's always one place I'll look and find plenty: My dad's photo albums! Seriously, I'm not trying to be biased, but my dad was the shit. Just look at him with his striped button ups, pastel polos and aviator shades...

NOTE: this is probably where I get my camera-whore genes. My dad was big on style and posing for the camera. I'll bet anything that if blogs existed in the 80s he'd have one and own it.

NAUGHTYORNICE

What did I tell you? Black, mesh and leather almost always adds mystery and a certain je ne sais quoi! This editorial certainly proves that, and it is one of my recent favourites for sure. Just thought I'd add some mystery and edge to an otherwise mundane Sunday. Hope everyone's been enjoying their weekends!

TOHELLWITHIT

Lily Donaldson, Gemma Ward & Caroline Trentini by Steven Meisel
I don't know about you, but I love a good new years resolution! There's just something about the idea of change that always gets me excited. Whether it's a small adjustment to daily habits or a huge turn-around on your outlook on life itself, the opportunity to change for the better is always welcome in my book.
If I thought last year's resolution of being more open and changing my pessimistic attitude was hard to achieve, wait 'til you hear this one! My 2011 resolution is--get this--to act my age. I realize that everyone who knows me would describe me as "hard worker" who is "wise beyond her years" and is "really responsible". In other words, people think I'm REALLY DAMN BORING but just they won't admit it. It's too bad, really, because they'd be right.
Let's look at the facts: I've already planned out my life for the next five years, people mistake me for 25 all the time, and even my mom is pressing me to live a little. Sigh. It has dawned on me that I really do take life way too seriously. I don't even remember the last time I did something spontaneous or reckless or went out past midnight (actually, come to think of it, I never have). Fact of the matter is: I'm 17 and the last time I checked, 17-year olds were allowed to have fun, be wild, experiment and feel invincible...it's just a part of life! When else during the average 85-year lifespan is it socially acceptable to run around in thigh-grazing dresses, dye your hair pastel pink and dance atop tables?!
See, the problem with my obsession of pursuing my ideal future life is that I've taken on way too many responsibilities and grown up far too quickly, thus disregarding any thought of living in the present and therefore leading a boring, responsible, sensible teenage life (and who wants one of those?!) In the end, my mother was correct (yet again) in saying that I've got the rest of my life to be old, and that I should HAVE FUN NOW and enjoy being a teen while I still can.You only get to be young once, might as well have the best time ever, right? So from now on, to hell with it--I'm going to go out there and carpe that f-cking diem! YEAH!!!
Now, excuse me while I sneak out of the house via my bedroom window on a school night to go have said fun (kidding).

Honestly, how perfect are Grace's polka-dotted (or is it hearted) tights? Need me a pair...and again, sorry for the quickie post--I'm short on time and low on inspiration at moment.

BUT ONE MORE THING...A happy birthday goes out to Zoe and Erika who just happen to share the same birthday! Hope you girls both have an amazing day, you deserve it:)

GOODBYE SUMMER.
I bid you adieu!

'Cause today was the first day of school. As far as how good it was, lets just say today I made everyone do the hip-thrust during the name game in english/history and that I'm looking forward to french "theatre" classes :)

OH. Grade 11 is going to be SWEET.
