{ one dress } two ways

a couple days ago, i mentioned that i feel a subtle transformation occurring in my style, and that tailoring is becoming ever more alluring. to wit, i suddenly can't get enough shirtdresses! it looks like it's going to be THE silhouette of the season for me; they're so versatile and so easy to wear!

this lithe lovely is the first of three new favorites i've recently acquired ~ the others being this and this. yesterday was an action-packed one in my world, but the dress seamlessly transitioned for several situations.

in the morning, i had to run errands around my neighborhood. i needed to be casual and comfortable, so i accessorized with simple jewels, a neutral clutch and frilly flats (gasp!).

an afternoon business meeting required a little more finish, so i switched the sunnies, cinched my waist with a clear acrylic + gold belt, added a dressier bag, statement necklace...

...and the pièce de résistance: the most beautiful shoes i have ever owned (they're made from lusciously nubby shagreen in front with rubber-band back straps! be still my heart.)!!

both looks felt effortless and appropriate for the different events of the day. that's a feat that even jeans can't often achieve! so tell me, which one do you prefer?
