in a pre-fashion week talk at parsons, donna karan called into question the industry-standard, several-month lapse between when runway collections are streamed across the world and when they are shipped into stores. she said: "i don’t want the consumer to see next week what is going to be in stores in fall, because it’s confusing... in the movie industry, the consumer doesn’t know about the movies until they’re ready to come out. why do we give [them] so much information about fashion six or seven months beforehand? it makes no sense to me.”

i too can testify that the system is flawed: mere moments after these peepers premiered on prada's winter runway, i forgot all about wanting the wangs (and it was only hours since i'd posted them). fashion sure is a fair-weather friend.
