INTOTHECRYSTALBALL

These pictures of me dressed as fortune teller wandering about the (ever-so-luxe) Fort Garry Hotel are way past overdue--kind of like how my English homework will be if I don't stop procastinating! But procastination aside, these pictures were shot this summer for the purpose of being in the September issue of Sandbox Magazine (along with my feature, remember?). Sadly, they did not make into the printed pages of the magazine itself, but that doesn't mean that the hard work of everyone involved won't get to be showcased! Au contraire.
In fact, I would like to acknowledge and thank Braden and Suzy for letting my creative freedom reign free on this one, as well as arranging everything--you guys rock! Also a major thanks to my little sis Kristine who actually, not only 'chaperoned' the shoot (as insisted on by my mother), but also photographed it (very cooperatively, might I add) under my guidance/direction. It was truly a collaborative effort and the outcome was great! I'd also like to give a quick thanks to the super nice peeps at Ragpickers and Town Shoes who contributed clothes and shoes for this shoot (and countless of other Sandbox shoots too, I assure you).
Anyhow, the inspiration behind the shoot was fairly simple. I wanted to play with the dark hues of fall, but also add an air of mystery and mischief. What else could be both whimsical, yet dark and alluring, but a gypsy fortune teller in a luxe, history-enriched setting like the Fort Garry Hotel?
