I always feel a bit of a lull after the holidays. My party dresses are put away along with the Christmas decorations and I start to dream about the coming spring. Transitioning between seasons is always tricky for me- I tend to jump the gun, but this year I'm focusing on a soft neutral palette to see me through the remaining winter months.

1. This
cape coat has the coolest hint of Sherlock Holmes and the belted waist and full skirt add a lovely feminine touch.2. A cream
long-sleeve dress is just the kind of piece I'm always hoping to find tucked within a rack at the Salvation Army. So simple and versatile, I can picture wearing it so many different ways. 3. A camel
floppy hat to keep the chills away and add a 70s vibe.4. I couldn't resist tassels for this look. Having one on a classic
structured purse is simply perfect.5. Laddered
knee socks keep the look light.6.
Tassel loafers add a vintage preppy menswear nonchalance.

1. A silky
tie blouse can be layered now with your favorite chunky cardigan and later worn alone on a warm spring day.2.
Suede shorts look equally nice layered with tights now or bare legs later.3. Two-tone studded
glasses.4.
Floral tights in a perfect camel shade. 5. A
chunky ring reminiscent of those brilliant estate sale finds.6. Light
tan wingtips keep the look from looking too sweet.
...Our weather has been so crazy up here. First it was really cold and snowy, then it rained and all the snow melted and now it's cold and snowy again. I was hoping to do a photo shoot today, but I just couldn't brave the arctic weather.
