{ bow-tie top } two ways

one of my most long-time friends recently remarked: "in all the years i've known you, i've never seen you wear the same look twice." truth is, while i've probably never worn the same *total look* twice, i repeat pieces all the time. however, for the sake of the blog, i try not to constantly document the same things. i do like to give you something new to look at (but super-favorites like my vintage ysl sunnies and so-comfy dries sandals have inevitably become regular co-stars)!

in the non-documented days of my life, i'm usually re-wearing all my favorite pieces at once, and any time i find a new, silky bow-tie blouse it goes straight into regular rotation. i rely on these the way some people probably do t-shirts; they're my favorite wear-everywhere item. whenever i find a cute one (especially in a good print, or at a nice price), i buy it! i've been wearing this particular one a lot lately ~ i like that it's tunic-length and cut extra easy.

for its first outing, i stole some cutoffs from my guy's closet, and wore it for a weekend brunch:

{ f21 earrings + blouse, self-designed necklace, vintage bracelets, dolce vita shoes }

for the next go-round (two days later), i had a client meeting that required a combination of professional but comfortable. so, the shorts were swapped for a more tailored trouser ~ plus a slightly dressier shoe and a few more accessories:

{ vintage ysl sunnies, random horse-print scarf, vintage belt + rings, reworked clutch, prada pants, lamb shoes }

which look do you like better? and what's that certain style of item you just can't get enough of?
