HEATOFTHEMOMENT

Heat, humidity, sweat, bad smells intensifying ten times more (ugh do people taking public transit not know what deodorant is?) and let's not forget mosquitos... Clearly I'm not the biggest fan of summer. It just boggles my mind (yes, boggle is a verb) how anyone can manage to put on clothes in the morning and do anything in 30+ degree celcius weather everyday let alone
manage to look attractive and not all sweaty. If you are one of these people, then damnations to you! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!!! Pretty please?
Usually I just end up throwing on the minimum amount of clothing required--right after I've slathered on the sunscreen, of course--and top off that hot mess with sunglasses and a hat and pray I don't run into anyone I know. Also, I am at the mercy of anyone who has A/C seeing as my apartment doesn't. My knees weaken at the very thought of a bus or car with A/C--Oh baby, heaven on wheels! Ah well, at least this pleated cut-out shirt helps...The lovely Rachel of
Style Stalker sent me this piece from their recent
Young Hollywood collection and it really is a heaven sent when it comes to keeping chic in the heat. Besides, who doesn't enjoy a shirt that's all business in the front and party in the back? Mullet clothes FTW.
ALSO. Thanks to all those who've entered the
Chains of Love giveaway and recommended me some awesome books and movies! I think it's only fair that I recommend you something good too, so I suggest
My Uncle Oswald by Roald Dahl. It's a not a kid's book, it's actually a very dirty book, and quite hilarious at that. It's the story of how a young man makes himself a fortune and it involves a very powerful aphrodisiac, a seductive half-Persian accomplice and 51 of the 20th century's most celebrated geniuses (think Picasso, Matisse, Einstein, Freud). You'll enjoy it if you like not-so-serious fiction, funny sexual encounters and history. It may not be deeply intellectual or on Oprah's book club, but it made me laugh so hard I swear I could feel abs forming!
Wearing a shirt c/o of Style Stalker, vintage knit skirt, F21 metal choker, vintage triangle pendant, ring c/o The Chains of Love and BCBGeneration heels via Town Shoes.
