{ costume of the day } sending out an SOS

changing my hair has launched a reexamination of my fashion habits ~ a renovation of my personal style. some things just don't work any more, and some things seem better than ever! among my newfound neccessities: super-strength skin cream (no hair to hide a blemished face behind), all-over-the-ear jewelry, dramatically collared shirts, massive necklaces, and boyishly tailored pants and jackets. of course, high heels and statement sunnies always have been and always will be de rigueur.

also, every spring i silently celebrate my manicure's release from the clutches of gloves by piling on many more bracelets and rings than i probably should. i'd like to think of it indulgently, as a stubborn case of SEASONAL OVERCOMPENSATION SICKNESS. SOS! any other sufferers out there?
