{ costume of the day } beer and bobby socks

believe it or not, i wore this ensemble to a biergarten birthday party over the weekend. now that's an occassion i find dressing for difficult. on the one hand, it's a festive gathering; on the other... there's beer and sauerkraut. i can do cocktail attire ~ even black tie ~ at the drop of a hat. but what does one wear to toast steins on a saturday afternoon? it's certainly not my usual destination ~ so the only thing to do was get INTO IT.

channeling the germanic venue, i looked to lederhosen for my outfit inspiration ~ which ultimately led me to don mushroom suede boots and pouf-bauble socks. you see the connection, right? of course a grey vest and mustard trench made it all a bit more bavarian ~ and some jewelry made it more ME!

{ vintage yves saint laurent sunnies (from eBay!), erica weiner earrings, the glamourai rosé braided bib, miu miu brooch (on coat), verameat knuckle ring, vintage trench (last seen HERE, and oops ~ i haven't changed the buttons yet!), go international vest, theory shirtdress, vintage slip, anthropologie socks, coach boots, rebecca minkoff bag, random cashmere scarf. whew! }
